Hawgs Illustrated Gameday Extra publishes at least 12 times a year during football season as an insert to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. It includes unique content previewing the Razorbacks’ upcoming game produced by the Hawgs Illustrated staff.

The Hawgs Sports Network was created in 2023 by NWA Media to group five like-minded platforms into a single network devoted to coverage of University of Arkansas sports. The platforms include: WholeHogSports.com, Hawgs Illustrated magazine, The Hawgs Illustrated Sports Club, Hawgs Illustrated Gameday Extra and Hog Radio.


Brent A. Powers is the president of NWA Media, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, LLC and the Hawgs Sports Network.


The Hawgs Sports Network is staffed by six award-winning sports journalists providing subscribers with the most unique and compelling sports coverage of Arkansas Razorbacks sports in the state. Staff includes General Manager Chip Souza, Hawgs Illustrated managing editor Christina Long, WholeHogSports.com managing editor Matt Jones, photojournalist Hank Layton and award-winning reporters Ethan Westerman and Anthony Kristensen.

Hawgs Illustrated magazine is 100 percent devoted to the Arkansas Razorbacks and was created more than three decades ago by Hall of Fame sports journalist Clay Henry. His vision still exists today in providing its subscribers the most unique and compelling Arkansas sports content anywhere.The magazine publishes 20 times a year and is also available in digital form. 


The Hawgs Illustrated Sports Club is a luncheon devoted to championing the success of prep and college athletes across Northwest Arkansas. The luncheons are held weekly in the fall during the football season and monthly the remainder of the year. Featured speakers include Razorbacks coaches and former players. The Hawgs Illustrated Gameday Extra is a special section published in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette during the football season that includes information on that week’s game, staff predictions and a look at the Razorbacks’ opponent that week. It is a must-read for Hog fans and contains all the information you need to be the star of your Saturday tailgate party.
